西恩·威廉·斯科特是一個天生的惡搞型喜劇演員，他經常在校園喜劇電影中露面，1999年他在《美國派》中出演的角色讓人捧腹不已，隨著影片的走紅他也成為《美國派》系列中不可或缺的演員。

除了《美國派》之外，他還出演過《四仔旅行團》等同類型喜劇片。不過斯科特似乎並不是甘心成為同一類型的演員，2003年他與岩石一起出演了動作影片《浴血叢林》，取得了相當不錯的票房，同年他又與周潤發一起出演了動作影片《防彈武僧》。2005年他出演了影片《正義前鋒》，又取得了相當不錯的成績，事業正在漸入佳境。
